Memorize the Holy Quran

Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) said: ‘Whoever reads the Qur’an, learns it and acts in accordance with it, on the Day of Resurrection his parents will be given a crown to wear whose light will be like the light of the sun, and his parents will be given garments which far surpass everything to be found in this world.’

Importance of Learning Quran

The importance of learning (in general) and learning ‘Quran’ (in particular) is evident from the first revelation that Allah Almighty bestowed on His Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The verses of the first revelation say:
اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ
خَلَقَ الْإِنسَانَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ
“Recite (Proclaim!) In the name of your Lord who created
, created man out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood” (Chapter 96; Verse 1-2)
Thus Islam from its very beginning has been a supporter of learning, and what book for learning can be better than Quran, the word of Allah Almighty. Moreover, motivating the learning of Quran, the following hadith of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) speaks for itself:
“‏ خَيْرُكُمْ مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ وَعَلَّمَهُ ‏”‏‏
“The Best amongst you are those, who learn the Quran and teach it.” (Sahih al-Bukhari 5027)
Thus the learning of Quran and its teaching is one of the most sacred acts a Muslim can perform in his life.
